LVBR currently has 17 bassets available for adoption.
Kirby (Y912), Age 9 years and 4 months
Kirby is a red and white Basset boy, approx. 9 years old. When Kirby first came to LVBR he had some lumps and bumps removed. He's healed nicely and is blooming in his foster home. What he needs now is a Forever Home. **We are working on an updated bio on Kirby to let folks know more about his personality and what he's looking for in a family. Also, we hope to have some updated photos to go along with it.** If you are interested in Kirby, please fill out the online application and tell us something about yourself. Thank you. His adoption fee will be $150.
Kirby has been with LVBR for 15 weeks.
Scout (Y910), Age 11 years and 11 months
Scout is a handsome, well-behaved, sociable, well-seasoned Basset Hound. He was unceremoniously left--filthy--at the shelter by his owners, who said they were moving. But LVBR stepped in to give this good looking fellow and chance at a better life. He went straight to one of our vets to have some lumps removed and a dental. Thought to be between 10 and 13 years old, but you'd never suspect it. His eyes are still bright and clear, and his lovely coat shows no signs of gray. Scout has a classic long-bodied basset style frame. He goes on for miles and miles! He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. But, he needs to find his very own home to free up his current foster spot so other needy hounds can be helped. If you would like to adopt (or foster) Scout, please put in the online adoption application on our site. His adoption fee will be $150.

Stashu (Y902), Age 8 years and 7 months
Stashu came to LVBR after his dad became ill and passed away. Stashu had been his faithful companion since puppyhood. As you can imagine, he's now a sad Basset who needs a family to comfort and love him. Stashu is 65 lbs. of sweetness, a gentle soul. He weighs about 65 lbs., has wonderful house manners, and is a calm 8 years old. He enjoyed snuggling with his dad on the couch and would certainly love to do the same with you. He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home and is still very playful. If you can help mend Stashu's broken--but still loving--heart, please put in the online application. He'll be waiting to meet you. His adoption fee will be $150.
Stashu has been with LVBR for 0 years and 6 months
Georgia (Y885), Age 6 years and 10 months
Georgia is an absolutely beautiful 6 year old basset who is ready for her Forever Home. She's the whole package--beauty, brains, kindness, devoted companion. Georgia gets along great with other dogs. She loves kids and cats, too. This girl has perfect house manners and is gentle and quiet. Super looking basset body form--low to the ground, with a sassy waddle walk! All you have to do is look into those sweet eyes of hers to see the lovely soul inside. Georgia has one blue eye, which makes her a stand out. If you'd like to add this gorgeous gal to your family, please put in the online application. Her adoption fee will be $150.

Daisey and Maddie (Y896), Age 7 years and 2 months
These sweet girls are so cute together! Daisey (ID # 896) is 6 years old, primarily black and white, and the more bodacious of the two. Sister Maddie (ID # 897) is 7 years old, with classic tri-coloring and a slightly taller and skinnier frame. They are not sisters by DNA, but they became very bonded when Daisey's family adopted Maddie several years ago. When the family could no longer care for the girls, they called LVBR. In their foster home they immediately got along with the other dogs in the home--cats, too. Foster mom, Cindy, reports Daisey greets her every morning with a toy in her mouth (a gift!) and Maddie goes belly-up for belly rubs. They enjoy playing with their canine friends at the dog park. Then in the evenings it's snuggle time on the couch for a little TV viewing. They really prove what any multi-basset home already knows: Bassets are like potato chips, you can't have just one! Daisey and Maddie are devoted to one another and all they need now is a loving home that will be devoted to them--oh, and of course provide plenty of belly-rubs. The joint adoption fee for Daisey and Maddie will be $250.
